Somerset County Gazette: Win your driving licence with the County Gazette and Ellisons School of Motoring

YOUR County Gazette has teamed up with a Somerset driving school to give one lucky reader the chance to win their driving licence.

Ellisons School of Motoring is offering the chance for a deserving learner who has the need to drive but not the means to afford lessons to win up to 50 hours of free tuition, as well as both a theory and practical test for free.

Lisa Ellison, who founded the driving school three years ago, said she and husband Paul hoped to help someone who would really benefit from being on the road.

“We wanted to run this competition to give something back to the community,” she said.

“We know there are people out there, particularly because this is a rural area with limited public transport, who would find it extremely beneficial to be able to drive but do not have the means to afford 50 hours of tuition.”

The school has grown rapidly in its short lifespan, having initially had just one instructor, Ellisons now has nine instructors out on the roads helping new drivers, young and old, pass their tests.

They have even progressed to teaching new instructors the best techniques for helping learners drive safely and competently.

“We now cover an area from Tiverton and Cullompton, to Wellington and Taunton, through Bridgwater and Burnham as far as Weston-Super-Mare,” Lisa added.

Nominations for the prize closed on Monday, March 5.

Now, readers can vote on who they would like to win the prize from a shortlist of 10 finalists.
