A SUPERCOMPUTER has predicted that iconic star Cher will grace the Glastonbury Legends slot this June.

Heart Bingo's supercomputer analysed data of previous Glastonbury artists, focusing on seven key characteristics including iconic status and induction into Music Halls of Fame.

Cher triumphed over 10 contenders as the most compatible with a 100 per cent compatibility rate.

The star's extensive seven-decade career, featuring 27 studio albums, and induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame were key factors.

Cher's tough competitors included Chaka Khan, Shania Twain and Stevie Nicks who were rated 86 per cent compatible.

Kate Bush came fifth with a 71 per cent rating, while Spice Girls and Barbra Streisand followed with a 57 per cent.

Annie Lennox achieved a 43 per cent while Sheryl Crow and Pink were seen as least likely with 29 per cent.

Christopher Wilkie, digital marketing manager for Heart Bingo, said: "The Glastonbury Legends slot is one of the most prized billings on the live musical calendar, and has produced some magical performances over the years – from Dolly Parton and Lionel Richie to Barry Gibb and Kylie Minogue.

“The Goddess of Pop’s back catalogue across seven decades speaks for itself with a glittering array of hits, ensuring the cultural icon continues to attract fans both young and old to this day, making her the perfect fit to wow the Worthy Farm crowds come Sunday afternoon at Glastonbury this year.”
