THIS WEEKEND saw the return of the annual Wells Food Festival.

Foodies were blessed with a day of sun as the mini heatwave saw temperatures of up to 23 degrees in the town.

Almost 200 local traders set up their stalls and vans to prepare and serve some delicious grub to everyone in attendance.

From kebabs to crumpets, and pizza to waffles, a huge variety of delicious food was on offer to visitors.

The site spanned the entirety of the Market Square, along the Bishop's Palace moat, and into the field which houses the bowls club.

Live music was performed from the bandstand, and outside of the palace, bringing a summery, up-beat feel to the event.

Some of the most popular stalls from local businesses at the festival included the Pizza Rocket, Sean the Chef, and Hullabaloos lemonade.

Wells-based food producer Charlie Bigham's partnered with the event, and even staged the world's first ever plate-spinning championship.
