AN ANNUAL harvest celebration event in Wedmore once again saw success as locals turned up in huge numbers.

Wedmore Harvest Home 2023 took place on Saturday August 19, and featured a wide array of entertainment.

The procession started off the day with different classes being judged. These included classic cars, decorated prams, and even a best dressed dog class.

This was followed with the traditional crowning of the harvest king and queen, before a church service, and then moving onto the much anticipated luncheon.

A children's tea took place in the late afternoon, prior to the evening entertainment for the adults, which featured live music and bands.

A spokesperson for Wedmore Harvest Home 2023 reflected on the event: "We began the day with our annual procession and church service. It was great to see lots of entries from floats, classic cars and walking entries.

"The streets were lined with supporters and we had people enter from babies right up to Grandmothers in mobility scooters!

"The lunch was catered for 500 with Alan Hector and Kate Isgar being our guest speakers.

"The children all enjoyed the tea, entertainment and sports, with live music and bands performing later in the evening.

"A big thank you to everyone that supported this years event, we would like to reach out and encourage everyone to support their local Harvest Home they really are a village tradition that should be kept alive!"
