CHILDREN and families can enjoy a “vibrant” line-up in the popular Kidzfield area at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The Big Top will host kids' TV icon Basil Brush, Simon Bodger's Badger, CBeebies presenter Maddie Moate, magician Dan Rhodes and ‘Supervet’ Noel Fitzpatrick.

Other treats on offer include a traditional Punch & Judy show, face artists, instrument lessons, a Storyteller Lounge, helter skelter, climbing wall and the Wondrous Kidzfield Castle.

Smaller children can enjoy the fenced-in Little Kidz area, which has its own playground and helpers, plus a shaded sand pit.

The National Childbirth Trust will provide baby changing, bathing, food and feeding facilities, provisions and advice for festivalgoers with young children and babies.

A festival spokesperson said: “There is no other place on earth like The Kidzfield and we invite everyone of 12 and under to experience the wonder and magic that lives here!

“The Kidzfield and Glastonbury Festival are committed to the UN Charter for Child Rights.

“We promote honest values and provide a safe place for play and exploration. Creativity, self-expression, curiosity, and magic are encouraged, nourished and celebrated in our field.”

Families can also make the most of Kidzfield's “hidden gem”,  the Rest & Recuperation Tent that provides on-site support for parents with young children.

Glastonbury Festival 2023 gets underway on Wednesday, June 21 at Worthy Farm.

Former County Gazette editor and Glastonbury Festival devotee Paul Jones has written a book charting the first 50 years of the event’s history, featuring the memories and experiences of dozens of artists who have performed at Worthy Farm.

His book, View From The Stage: 50 Years of Glastonbury by the People that Played, has been described as a “brilliant collection of beautifully-written interviews” detailing some of the festival's brightest and quirkiest moments. Interviewees include members of Oasis, Status Quo, Napalm Death and Toploader.
