FIRE crews from Minehead have been called to a grill pan fire.

Firefighters arrived at 07:39am and found a small fire in the grill at Alcombe Lodge on Bircham Road.

Crews extinguished the fire and ventilated the property.

The first floor flat sustained light smoke damage.

A fire service spokesman said: "The cause of the fire was accidental, overheated grill pan. Smoke detectors were fitted in the property and did activate."
