A TAUNTON woman whose parked car has been hit three times in a year by passing vehicles is calling for council assistance.
The knocks have caused hundreds of pounds damage to Mandy Raven's Nissan Micra parked on the road outside her Barlinch Close council home.
Following Monday's accident, she is renewing calls for Taunton Deane Council to drop the kerb so she can park off road in front of her house.
A council spokeswoman said Miss Raven needs to get permission and pay for the work herself.
Single mum Miss Raven, a cleaner, said: "I'm fed up and angry.
"I was given the car new last year by a friend and it's been hit three times.
"It's unsuitable leaving it on the road, but I've no choice.
"I want the council to drop the kerb so I can park in front of my house, but they say no."
In the latest incident, her car bumper, back wing and door were scraped and dented.
A Deane spokeswoman said she could not comment on individual cases, although dropping kerbs was not the council's responsibility.
She added: "However, if, as a council tenant, a resident wishes to have a dropped kerb, they need to contact their estates officer for permission.
"The resident would need to get a price from an authorised contractor to install the dropped kerb.
"The work must be authorised by the highway department at Somerset County Council - which owns the pavement - and a special license obtained from them allowing the contractor to do the work."
